Dr. Balachandran Manavalan
Balachandran Manavalan received his Ph.D. in Computational Biology from Ajou University in 2011 under the guidance of Prof. Sangdun Choi. Afterwards, he worked as a research fellow at the Korea Institute for Advanced Study from November 2011 to February 2017. From January 2017 to February 2022, he worked as a research fellow and research assistant professor at the Ajou University of Medical School. Since 2022.02.21, he has been an Associate Professor at the Department of Integrative Biotechnology, Sungkyunkwan University.
Assoc. Prof. Duc Ngoc Minh Dang, Ph.D.
I received the B.Eng. and M.Eng. degrees in Electronics and Telecommunications Engineering from Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology, Vietnam in 2005 and 2007, respectively, and the Ph.D. degree in Computer Engineering from Kyung Hee University, Korea in 2014. My research interests include MAC protocols in wireless ad hoc networks, vehicular ad hoc networks, speech emotion recognition, multimodal learning, federated learning, and the Internet of Things.
From 2005 to 2008, I worked as a Senior Telecom Engineer and Team Leader at TMA Solutions in Vietnam. From 2008 to 2011, I served as Head of the Electronics and Telecommunications Engineering Department and Laboratory Head at Ton Duc Thang University, Vietnam. From 2011 to 2014, I served as a Research Assistant and Postdoctoral Researcher at Kyung Hee University, Korea. From 2015 to 2017, I served as Head of the Electronics–Telecommunications Department at the Faculty of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Ton Duc Thang University. From 2017 to 2022, I served as Vice Dean of the School of Graduate Studies at the same university.
Currently, I am an Associate Professor and Dean of the Faculty of Information Technology at FPT University, Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, where I also serve as the Director of the AiTA Lab, leading research in artificial intelligence, telecommunications, and advanced technologies.

Mr. Nhat Truong Pham
He is currently a first/second-year Ph.D. Student at the Department of Integrative Biotechnology, College of Biotechnology and Bioengineering, Sungkyunkwan University (SKKU), Republic of Korea. He is working under the guidance of Associate Professor Balachandran Manavalan in the Computational Biology and Bioinformatics Laboratory. Prior to joining SKKU, He has worked as an Assistant Researcher at Ton Duc Thang University (TDTU), Vietnam. He completed his M.E. degree in Automation and Control at TDTU, where he was supervised by Dr. Sy Dzung Nguyen and co-supervised by Dr. Duc Ngoc Minh Dang. He also hold a B.E. degree in Electronics and Telecommunication from TDTU, which he obtained in 2019 under the supervision of Dr. Duc Ngoc Minh Dang.
Research Interests: Affective Computing, AI4Science, Biomedical Data Science, Machine Learning, Multimodal Analysis, and Bioinformatics.
Mr. Duong Thanh Tran
His name is Duong Thanh Tran (you can call him Jayden). He is currently Ph.D. Student @ Department of Integrative Biotechnology, College of Biotechnology and Bioengineering, Sungkyunkwan University (SKKU), Republic of Korea 🇰🇷.
He is also working as a full-time researcher under the guidance of Professor Balachandran Manavalan in the Computational Biology and Bioinformatics Laboratory (CBBL-SKKU).

Dr. Leyi Wei
Leyi Wei received the B.Sc. degree in Computing Mathematics from Xiamen University in 2010, the M.E. and Ph.D. degrees in Computer Science and Technology from Xiamen University in 2013 and in 2016, respectively. During 2016 - 2019, he worked as an Assistant Professor at College of Intelligence and Computing, Tianjin University. He also worked as a project researcher in the lab of Functional analysis in silico, Institute of Medical Science, University of Tokyo during 2018 - 2019. Since 2020.01 till now, he is a Professor at School of Software, Shandong University.
Mr. Nam Phuong Tran
Currently, he is a Ph.D. Candidate at the Networking Intelligence Laboratory, Kyung Hee University, Republic of Korea, working under the supervision of Prof. Choong Seon Hong. He received his B.Sc. in Artificial Intelligence from FPT University in 2023. Previously, he worked as an AI researcher at FPT University and K&G company.
Research Interests: Artificial Intelligence, Deep Learning, Machine Learning, Networking for AI, Federated Learning, Split Learning, and Biometrics.
Trung Thanh Pham
He is currently a Ph.D. Student in Artificial Intelligence at Kyung Hee University Global Campus, Republic of Korea. He received his Bachelor’s degree in Artificial Intelligence from FPT University in 2023. Previously, he worked as an AI Researcher at Kyung Hee University and IMT Solutions.
Research Interests: Large Language Models (LLMs), Computer Vision, Generative AI, and building robust AI/ML systems.
MSc. Ngoc Hanh Dang
She is currently a Researcher at Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology (HCMUT), Vietnam.
Research Interests: Wireless communication, Machine Learning, and Signal Processing.
Dr. Cuong Tuan Nguyen
Cuong Tuan Nguyen is a junior lecturer in Information Systems and Data Sciences at Vietnamese-German University (VGU). He received his B.Eng. (honor program) in Computer Engineering from Ho Chi Minh University of Technology, M.Sc. and Ph.D. in Computer Science from Tokyo University of Agriculture and Technology (TUAT) in 2011, 2014 and 2017, respectively. Before joining VGU, he had been an assistant professor at TUAT (2017-2021), associate professor at WACOM-TUAT joint research laboratory (2022), lecturer/researcher at FPT university Ho Chi Minh city campus (2023). He has been working on online and offline handwritten math/japanese text/english text recognition, clustering and automatic scoring, co-organized VOHTR2018 competition on Vietnamese online handwriting recognition and CROHME 2023 competition in recognizing handwritten mathematical expression.
His research interests including:
- Temporal classification, structural parsing, graph algorithms, attention models for handwritten mathematical expression recognition.
- Weakly supervised models, object detection models for handwritten text recognition.
- Object detection models, tracking algorithms and their applications.
